Another NYSC Anambra Carnival to hold on Saturday

Arguably, the biggest merriment and procession festival in tourism history of Anambra State were those that took place at the NYSC Orientation camp Umunya. As people look up to witness the next scheduled to hold on Saturday, 29th March 2014 it has become pertinent to take a cursory look at the event. Obviously, the brain behind this tourism renaissance is the quintessential Coordinator, Mrs Inyang Bassey Ekpe.
Since she assumed the headship of the Scheme in the State in 2012, the event has grown every inch better.   The last one can better be described as a re-enactment of the famous Calabar carnival. Five have been organized so far.  The first one was during batch ‘B’ 2012 but the last one in Batch ‘C’ 2013 drew more crowds of fun seekers, important personalities and the Media to the carnival venue. And it was even more colourful with side-shows and fiestas as various platoons adorned their own hues.

NYSC Anambra carnival is a festival of dances - flashy costumes, funny masks, cultural displays and songs were displayed by corps members, officials and the generality of the Camp community. The past events often attract many sponsors who participated as they found opportunity to sell their corporate and product image through the platoons they identified with.
Since the Carnival‘s chief organizer  is still the same  fun loving Cross-Riverian, this Saturday  you should look forward to another action packed  magnificent event.  With over a thousand six hundred active personae

promising you a scintillating performance, you shouldn’t expect anything less. If you are one of those Batch ‘A’ Corps members on Camp, the carnival shall help you unwind, unite you with friends and also appreciate the huge reward of culture. In fact, it shall be the hand that would rub that soothing balm on your pain and ease your stress.
Now let me not leak the secret of the tasty Edikang-ikong soup that accompanies the event. Have I got someone swallowing saliva?  No, not yet!
Wait , when  Saturday comes, we will see how the Carnival pans out.
