Know the four Cardinal Programmes of the NYSC service year




        Orientation: 

  Planned regimented programme in which corps members are made to go through rigorous training to prepare them physically and mentally for the service year, and post service year challenges.  This includes Para-Military, Man O’ War, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Training (SAED) Lectures, Leadership Training etc.

        Primary Assignment:       

 A period when corps members are posted to employers in the communities of their states of deployment to render service to the nation.

       Secondary Assignment/Community Development Service: 

 A period when corps members use their innate talent to improve on the lots of their host communities by rendering free and selfless services. Like Primary assignment, CDS is also compulsory for all corps members.

       Winding-Up/Passing Out:           
   A period in which corps members through their experiences appraise the scheme, are also appraised and are eventually discharged from national service.  The four programmes are compulsory for all corps members.
