Anambra NYSC begins the sensitization of Prospective Corps members in Tertiary Institutions

As part of preparation for the forth-coming Batch ‘A’ 2014 Orientation programme, NYSC Anambra State secretariat has began a sensitization programme for final year Students of tertiary institutions in the state.
The programme tagged ‘Pre-mobilization Brief for prospective Corps members’, kicked-off recently at the university auditorium, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (Formerly Anambra state university) Uli , Anambra State.
 The State Coordinator for NYSC Anambra, Mrs Inyang Bassey Ekpe who led a team of the secretariat officials to the venue, was the keynote speaker.
In her presentation, Mrs Ekpe gave the students a rundown of the NYSC scheme’s history, objectives, achievements, prerequisite for call up to service and overview of the orientation programme etc.
She challenged the students to be disciplined and focused as NYSC has put measures in place to help the graduate youths to become useful to the society through the Skill Acquisition & Entrepreneurship (SAED) programme it has introduced.
The Coordinator also counseled them to be good ambassadors of themselves, family, and Institution of their graduation throughout the service year.
While speaking, the Dean of Students affairs in the University, Dr. (Mrs) Sylvia Okonkwo in a welcome remark poured encomiums on the NYSC for the sensitization which she noted would answer most of the questions plaguing the minds of the students. She thanked the Coordinator and her team for an excellent work done.
The sensitization team lead by the state Coordinator include Mr. Elliot Akinaso – Assistant Director (Deployment & Relocation), Mr. Ayorinde Ayanda - Assistant Director (Community Development Services), Mr. Emmanuel Uranta - Assistant (Director  Reward & Discipline), Mr. Ben Obi – Certification Officer and Mr. Felix N. Obiekwe – ICT officer. The team is scheduled to visit other higher Institutions including Madonna University Okija, Paul University Awka, Tansian University and Nnamdi Azikiwe .University.
